the Shimada Cup

Akira Shimada devoted himself to baseball during his youth. In early Showa,when there was no professional baseball league, middle school and high school, university baseballs were popular with the general audience, and Shimada was a star player.

 

Teammates say that sportsmanship cultivated in baseball was the basis of his ability to act.

 

After the war, the Shimada Cup was made to honor the achievements of Governor Shimada. It is awarded to the team that win the Okinawa high school baseball game.
